LIGHTNX Defense
Supplier partnerships

Building a stronger defense supply base.

LIGHTNX is building a qualified network of manufacturers, processors and distributors. Suppliers who meet our expectations gain a partner that brings defined requirements, clear flowdowns and direct communication.

Illustrative model of the sourcing method — not a map of specific suppliers or locations.

Animation: a requirement at the center connects to many potential sources. Four evaluation filters — technical fit, documentation and traceability, compliance and trade screening, capacity and schedule — progressively remove sources until a small set of qualified supply pathways remains.

Supplier expectations.

These expectations protect the programs we support. Specific requirements are confirmed per order through flowdown.

01

Quality

A documented quality system appropriate to your work, with certificates of conformance and records available per order. Certifications such as AS9100 or ISO 9001 are valued and verified where a requirement calls for them.

02

Traceability

Material and lot traceability maintained through your process, and sourcing from original manufacturers or authorized channels.

03

Cybersecurity

Protection of customer information consistent with DFARS 252.204-7012 and NIST SP 800-171 where controlled unclassified information is involved.

04

Controlled data

Technical data handled only by authorized personnel through approved channels, and export-control obligations respected.

05

Flowdown

Acceptance of contract quality and regulatory clauses flowed down from the prime requirement.

06

Integrity

Accurate quotes, on-time communication about risks, and no undisclosed subcontracting.

Supplier onboarding

Introduce your company.

  1. 01 Submit an introduction with your capabilities and certifications.
  2. 02 We review fit against current and anticipated requirements.
  3. 03 Suppliers that fit are added to our supply base and contacted when a matching requirement arises.

Documentation we request

  • Company profile, capabilities and equipment
  • Quality system description and any current certifications (copies)
  • Registrations relevant to your work (for example SAM.gov, CAGE)
  • Cybersecurity posture for controlled information, where applicable
  • Sample certificate of conformance and inspection record formats

Purchase-order terms and flowdowns are provided with each order. See also how the LIGHTNX industrial base works.

Submitting an introduction does not create a contract or guarantee work. Please do not include controlled technical data.

No controlled data. Do not include CUI, export-controlled technical data or drawings in this form. Controlled files are exchanged only through the authenticated Program Workspace after an initial conversation.
